Internship Title: CU Boulder Hillel Student Representative

Organization: Jewish Community Relations Council, JEWISHcolorado

Location: Colorado (Hybrid in the Denver/Boulder area – In-person meetings and virtual participation)

Who We Are

JEWISHcolorado strengthens and connects the Jewish community in Colorado, Israel, and around the globe by creating diverse pathways to engage in Judaism. JEWISHcolorado, one of 146 nonprofit Federations in the U.S. and Canada, is a part of Jewish Federations of North America.

The Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) is a program of JEWISHcolorado and operates as the public affairs arm of the Colorado Jewish Community. JCRC is a nonpartisan body that brings Jewish Coloradans together to advance our shared values and policy priorities. JCRC is comprised of 42 member organizations and 15 at-large members representing diverse parts of our community. JCRC advocates, educates, mobilize actions, and builds relationships to ensure that the Jewish community and our neighbors can thrive.

Internship Summary

The CU Boulder Hillel Student Representative serves as a vital liaison between the JCRC and Jewish college students across Colorado. This individual provides insights into student perspectives and experiences, helps inform the JCRC’s policy and advocacy agendas, and contributes to programmatic and relationship-building efforts. The CU Boulder Hillel Student Representative will play a key role in aligning the JCRC’s actions with the unique needs of Colorado’s next generation of Jewish leaders.

This is an academic year-long internship (October 2025-June 2026).

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the voices and concerns of Jewish college students in Colorado within the JCRC

  • Participate in JCRC meetings each quarter (virtual and/or in-person) - student representatives are only able to miss one meeting and still qualify for full stipend payment · Support JCRC fundraising and communications efforts 2-4 hours per week by drafting email marketing communications, designing educational social graphics, writing and editing website copy, and filtering relevant news story to identify key content pieces for social media

  • Actively participate in policy discussions, educational events, and advocacy efforts

  • Serve as a bridge between the JCRC and Jewish student organizations, including your Hillel, Chabad on Campus, Students Supporting Israel, J Street U, etc.

  • Help coordinate student involvement in JCRC programs and events, including mobilization trainings and advocacy days

  • Provide periodic reports or updates to both the JCRC and campus communities about relevant developments.

Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled as a junior or senior

  • Demonstrated leadership in Jewish student life and/or campus community

  • Interest in public policy, government, intergroup relations, or advocacy

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Ability to commit to JCRC meetings (full council and committee) and occasional events

  • Commitment to the missions and values of the JCRC.

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Experience with student government, civic engagement, or Jewish communal organizations

  • Familiarity with current issues affecting the Jewish community locally and nationally

  • Ability to engage constructively in discussions on complex and sometimes sensitive topics · Experience with Canva, mass email marketing platforms, and social media scheduling tools (Hootsuite) are a plus.
